Bobby Caraway

A VETERAN OF COUNTRY MUSIC, Bobby Caraway's career has spanned the entire second half of the twentieth century. Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas into a musical family, he began playing the guitar at a young age and quickly became proficient on it.
Bobby first hit the charts in 1959, when he wrote and recorded with his brother Terry, "Ballin Keen" and "Sweet Lies". Recorded at Gold Star Studios and released on Crest records, "Sweet Lies" reached the top 30 in Billboard. "Ballen Keen" remains one of the best examples of the rockabilly style reaching cult status among rockabilly aficionados worldwide.
During his long career Bobby has had many hit records in Europe and the USA. The classics "Dr Jones", "The Bear Walked Upright" and "The Legend of Ernest Tubb", which became a number one hit in Europe and top 10 in the USA.
Bobby's love affair with music has taken him into song writing as well as recording. He has written songs for Boxcar Willie ("A Good Ole Country Song", "I'm Not On The Bottom Yet"). Doug Kershaw, and the late David Houston just to name a few. In addition, Bobby toured with David Houston appearing all over the United States and Canada. He has appeared on stage alongside many stars including Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Ray Price, Del Reeves, Jim Reeves, and Alabama.
Bobby has appeared onstage with Boxcar Willie at his theater in Branson and at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Not long before Boxcar passed away Bobby made an appearance at the Boxcar Willie Theater where he performed "The Man From Texas", a song he wrote in honor of his long time friend Boxcar Willie.
"Mr. Country" is presently touring the USA and is looking forward to touring Europe in the near future.
