Bobby Caraway
A VETERAN OF COUNTRY MUSIC, Bobby Caraway's career has spanned the entire second half of the twentieth
century. Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas into a musical family, he began playing the guitar at a young age and
quickly became proficient on it.
Bobby first hit the charts in 1959, when he wrote and recorded with his brother Terry,
"Ballin Keen" and "Sweet
Lies". Recorded at Gold Star Studios and released on Crest records, "Sweet Lies" reached the top 30 in Billboard.
"Ballen Keen" remains one of the best examples of the rockabilly style reaching cult status among rockabilly
aficionados worldwide.
During his long career Bobby has had many hit records in Europe and the USA. The classics "Dr Jones", "The Bear
Walked Upright" and "The Legend of Ernest Tubb", which became a number one hit in Europe and top 10 in the USA.
Bobby's love affair with music has taken him into song writing as well as recording. He has written songs for
Boxcar Willie ("A Good Ole Country Song", "I'm Not On The Bottom Yet"). Doug Kershaw, and the late David Houston
just to name a few. In addition, Bobby toured with David Houston appearing all over the United States and Canada.
He has appeared on stage alongside many stars including Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Ray Price, Del Reeves,
Jim Reeves, and Alabama.
Bobby has appeared onstage with Boxcar Willie at his theater in
Branson and at the Grand Ole
Opry in Nashville. Not long before Boxcar passed away Bobby made an appearance at the Boxcar Willie Theater
where he performed "The Man From Texas", a song he wrote in honor of his long time friend Boxcar Willie.
"Mr. Country" is presently touring the USA and is looking forward to touring Europe in the near future.

Inducted into Country Music Organization Of America Hall of Fame
Nov. 2001 - Bobby Caraway just returned from the C.M.O.A. awards show in Las Vegas at the
Castaway Hotel and Casino. He performed five nights in the Windjammers
Lounge with great success, including a standing ovation on a Wednesday night - a tribute
show for New York City. Caraway walked away with five awards. His CD "The Man
From Texas: won CD and Cassette Album of the Year. His record label
"Foundation Records" won Record Label of the Year, Bobby also won record Producer of the Year at
C.M.O.A.
