Chely Wright
Announces Additional Artists
To Perform at Reading Writing & Rhythm Event

Auction Items Added Daily

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE-Vivaton recording artist Chely Wright, founder of Reading Writing & Rhythm, has announced more artists have been added to the list of guests who will donate their time and talent to perform at the 4th Annual Chely Wright and Friends Benefit Concert at Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon Tuesday, June 8, @ 8:00PM.
Big & Rich, Rachel Proctor and SHeDAISY have been added to the star-studded line-up joining Jenny Gill, Blake Shelton, Josh Turner, Jimmy Wayne, and special guest, Martina McBride who will perform at the Year 2004 charity event. The concert and corresponding celebrity auction will benefit the Reading, Writing & Rhythm Foundation.
In its 4th year, the event will once again host a live and silent auction as part of the festivities. The auctions will feature trips, audio and visual equipment, special autographed memorabilia and unique gift packages including:

  • A flat screen HD TV, a laptop computer and digital video cam
    (donated by Best Buy)
  • A Harley Davidson motorcycle (donated by Harley-Davidson--Cool Springs)
  • A fly-away package (via American Airlines) taking country music fans to a Tim McGraw concert
  • A once-in-a-lifetime flight with the Red Knight in a military jet trainer
  • Lunch with Aaron Tippin at his farm
  • Hand written, autographed lyrics from hit songs recorded by Martina McBride, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, and Chely Wright
  • A suit worn Jay Demarcus (Rascal Flatts) to a previous CMA Awards show
  • A gown worn by Tammy Wynette to the CMA Awards in the late 70s
  • A shopping spree with Chely Wright at one of Nashville's hottest boutiques, Flavour
  • Dinner with Chely Wright
  • In addition, country music enthusiasts can purchase a VIP package that includes 2 ALL ACCESS PASSES to capture the action backstage and meet the artists. The seven-day auction will be held on eBay through June 4. (Ebay auction item # 2247430069 or eBay search under Chely Wright.) All proceeds from ticket sales and the auction will benefit the Reading, Writing & Rhythm Foundation.
  • Since 1999, Chely Wright has brought top-notch country artists together for this great cause. The Reading, Writing & Rhythm Foundation is a non-profit organization formed by Chely to raise funds for music education in public schools. In the short time since its inception, the foundation is fast approaching the Million-Dollar mark. Reading, Writing & Rhythm has given gifts of musical instruments, PA equipment, band uniforms and sheet music to music students and schools in several states including educational institutions in Alaska, Idaho, South Carolina, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Tennessee, Arkansas and Georgia. The foundation encompasses eight board of directors and more than thirty volunteers made up of industry folks lend a hand each year in support of the charity concert event.
  • Last year, the Chely Wright and Friends Benefit Concert sold out--raising $100,000. Tickets and reserved seating for this year's event are limited, so purchase early. Ticket price is $25 per person.

CRS*Las Vegas
Mandalay Bay Hotel - May 24-25, 2004

Close to 300 people attended the two-day Country Radio Seminar in Las Vegas last week (May 24-25). Ed Salamon, Executive Director, of the Country Radio Broadcasters was pleased with the turnout and the interactive panel discussions. Dick Clark, moderator of the panel entitled "It's All About Relationships" showed everyone how a panel should be lead! Other highlights of the seminar included stellar performances by Universal South's Katrina Elam, Koch Record's David Lee Murphy and Restless Heart, and Arista Nashville presented Ryan Tyler. Attendees of the seminar were also treated to special performances by Dierks Bently, Pat Green, Buddy Jewel, Josh Turner, and Jimmy Wayne at the Academy of Country Music's New Artist Show.
