“Kim Williams pitched ‘Faith’ to me a couple of years ago,” says Mitchell. “I loved it the first time I heard it.” Sung in Mitchell John’s signature conversational style, the song was demoed by Garth Brooks – who was just another Nashville want-to-be at the time. “I knew it was a great song, and I just tried to make it my own,” Mitchell says.

Mitchell John did just that, and the Billings, Montana native’s ranching background no doubt helped his performance. You can almost feel this cowboy’s aches and pains, and you can certainly empathize with his feelings of self-doubt. The mid-tempo number rolls along like the wheels of that old truck the cowboy rides in, and the story unfolds like a comforting campfire tale. “People love this song,” Mitchell remarks. “And I think for the same reasons I do - it's country and it has a positive meaning.”
