“Faith Ain’t Faith” Hits International Radio Programmers’ Desks On June 1

“He said, Faith Ain’t Faith till it’s all that you’ve got left / Ridin’ high is easy, but the lows are life’s true tests / Do your best to keep believin’, the good Lord’ll do the rest / ‘Cause faith ain’t faith, son, till it’s all that you’ve got left” - Williams/Blazy/Dowell

Nashville, TN (May 26, 2006) -- “It is such a powerful song that we Mitchell Johnpretty much shaped the whole album around it,” says Ta Tanka Records’ country recording artist Mitchell John of his latest single, “Faith Ain’t Faith.” Written by Kim Williams, Kent Blazy and Jim Dowell, this tale of faith and redemption hits international radio programmers’ desks via the Country HotDisc and New Christian Music compilations June 1. The track is from the upcoming CD release, MITCHELL JOHN.

“Kim Williams pitched ‘Faith’ to me a couple of years ago,” says Mitchell. “I loved it the first time I heard it.” Sung in Mitchell John’s signature conversational style, the song was demoed by Garth Brooks – who was just another Nashville want-to-be at the time. “I knew it was a great song, and I just tried to make it my own,” Mitchell says.

Mitchell John did just that, and the Billings, Montana native’s ranching background no doubt helped his performance. You can almost feel this cowboy’s aches and pains, and you can certainly empathize with his feelings of self-doubt. The mid-tempo number rolls along like the wheels of that old truck the cowboy rides in, and the story unfolds like a comforting campfire tale. “People love this song,” Mitchell remarks. “And I think for the same reasons I do - it's country and it has a positive meaning.”

Mitchell John has sold over 100,000 copies of his seven previous Ta Tanka Records releases, and his autobiography, FUNDED BY FAITH: An American Dream as told to author Bob Millard (Amy Grant: Life of a Pop Star, The Judds) is available online and at Wal*Mart stores across the U.S. Have a little faith – and listen for Mitchell John’s latest single on June 1.
