FELICITY CHARTS & HEADS TO RUSSIA
(23 May
2006)
-
Felicity
Urquhart is certainly living her life, as her current single
MY LIFE hits the charts. The
title track from her brand new album MY
LIFE has just
broken into the Top 30 Country Tracks chart.
“There are two words that describe this album: delicate and exquisite. The
songs are perceptive, yet subtle ….and the shear beauty of the
music…Highlights include the title track My Life, the darkly introspective
Big Black Cloud and Lonely Girl …. Felicity has long been under-rated on
the Australian country scene. This classy and appealing album should
remedy that situation in a hurry.”
Susan Jarvis, CapNews
Felicity
is currently enjoying the spoils of Norfolk Island for their annual
country music festival, and was excited to hear the news, and thanked all
the stations for their support.
“Thanks to all who have added My Life – it’s a great feeling
knowing people are hearing your songs,” Felicity explains.
ACT residents will be able to see Felicity shortly, as she heads to
Canberra to perform an intimate acoustic dinner show at The Rose Inn
Canberra Friday 2 June, before jetting off to Russia where she will be
performing at Australia Week in Moscow.
“The singer is a melancholic maestro of mood swings from morose Big Black
Cloud to sensual swagger of Breathe and paralysis of love in No Mistakes.
She explores fragility in A Little Joy, retreat in Lonely Girl and
yearning for love that escaped in Take Me Back…. Beg, steal or borrow to
find this gem.” Dave Dawson, Beat
Magazine
She is also featured in the nomination of music show
NuCountry TV in The Antennas,
the upcoming national community television awards. The episode hosted by
Felicity is in the Top 5 of Best Music Show, to be announced June 16 in
Federation Square, Melbourne.
The new single has been getting great support nationally, with
airplay on the following stations (plus many more):

“Felicity
is one of Australia’s most sophisticated female artists. This Album is
EXCELLENT!” Charlie Sparrow, Blues
Country Magazine
“Tamworth
troubadour Felicity Urquhart digs up pure country roots on her fifth CD.
She blends bliss of mentor Alison Krauss on the title track and 'On & On',
before displaying soulful swagger on 'The Flood' – two of four tracks
performed with guitarist-producer Glen Hannah. Felicity masters mood
swings in the morose 'Big Black Cloud' and stormy 'No Mistakes', and
tackles the topic of survival in 'Still Alive' – penned with bluegrass
torchbearer Randy Scruggs. There’s ruptured romance in 'Mr Catfish', heart
paralysis in 'A Little Joy', retreat in 'Lonely Girl', yearning in 'Take
Me Back' and abandonment in 'Breathe'. This is Felicity at her creative
peak, wedding heart and soul with delicious dexterity. A gem.”
